That is why we are proud to celebrate PITT OHIO truck driver Sean O’Donnell, a linehaul driver based at our Cherry Hill, New Jersey terminal, for being named the New Jersey Motor Truck Association (NJMTA) Driver of the Year.
One of the trucking industry’s most respected honors, the NJMTA Driver of the Year award recognizes truck drivers who exemplify safety, professionalism, and leadership. For O’Donnell, the recognition is the culmination of nearly three decades spent setting the standard for excellence behind the wheel.

With more than 27 years of industry experience, O’Donnell is approaching an incredible milestone: three million accident-free and incident-free miles. Since joining PITT OHIO in 2008, he has built a reputation as a truck driver who consistently prioritizes safety while delivering exceptional service to customers.
His remarkable driving record reflects not only his technical skills, but also his disciplined approach to every trip, every mile, and every decision made on the road.

While O’Donnell’s safety achievements are impressive, his impact extends far beyond his own driving performance.
As a driver trainer and coach, he helps guide new drivers as they transition into linehaul operations. Through mentorship, hands-on coaching, and a willingness to share his knowledge, O’Donnell plays an important role in strengthening PITT OHIO’s culture of safety and professionalism.
His influence can be seen in the success of the drivers he has helped train and the confidence they bring to their roles throughout the organization.

A Champion Competitor
O’Donnell’s commitment to excellence also shines through his participation in the New Jersey Truck Driving Championships, where he has established himself as one of the state’s top competitors.
He earned Rookie of the Year honors in 2017 and has achieved multiple top-three finishes in the highly competitive 5-Axle Division. In 2025, he helped lead his team to a first-place finish in the Small Team Division, demonstrating the teamwork and leadership qualities that have defined his career.
These achievements showcase not only his driving abilities, but also his passion for representing both the profession and the company at the highest level.

At PITT OHIO’s Cherry Hill terminal, O’Donnell is known as much for his character as his accomplishments. Colleagues describe him as dependable, professional, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
